330ml Cans – Released
The time has come to say goodbye to the 330ml bottle range and hello to the 330ml can range. Having made the decision a few months back to move in to cans we are delighted to be able to launch them before our busy summer ahead.
Many people have asked us why we moved from bottles to cans and there are several good reasons for doing so.
- The first is that it is better for our beer. The dark can means no light strike and therefore it means we can produce a great tasting quality product.
- Secondly it is a great product to be able to take away with you camping, tramping or just round to a mates place. They are easily squashed and then easily recycled. Lighter and less bulky than a glass bottle we felt this was the right product for our customers. Living and woking in the Tasman region we had many requests over several years from local tourism business and visitors a like asking for this type of product to take away with them.
- Thirdly they are easier to recycle for bars and restaurants
- and finally as mentioned above this region sees a lot of visitors wanting to trial the beers without having to buy large amounts. This means we can offer our customers an opportunity to buy single cans and mixed 6packs to take away with them.
We think they look fresh and inviting and the beer is tasting great.
Don’t forget all website pricing includes the cost of freight. So there are no hidden extras.
Haze Phase Series
Creating the Haze Phase Series has allowed us to play with some new and exciting hop varieties and hop blends from NZ Hops and the new kids on the block Freestyle Hops. These new hops and blends are being trialled in smaller batches so that we can see how they perform. Having released ‘The Bruce’ and the ‘Freestyler’ this winter the plan is to release four more beers before the end of the year.
As we want as many people to trial these new experimental hops, freshly filled riggers will be available via our online shop and in the tasting room in Riwaka.
Our Online Shop Goes LIVE!
Our online shop went live last week and so far we have had a great response to the site. It has definitely been a work in progress and we are so pleased to be able to offer our beers and in particular the seasonal, experimental and one off creations that Simon loves to make.
Our core range will always be available but we are most pleased that our sectional seasonal selection will now be available for people to buy no matter where in NZ you live. The prices all include FREIGHT which we decided was the best option for our customers. That way they always knew what the price would be at the checkout.
New Trial Hops = Exciting New Beers…………
The team at Freestyle Farms are creating some new and exciting hop blends and we have been fortunate enough to get our hands on some. The first batch of blended hops is The Bruce. Named after the founder of Eggers Hop Farm, Bruce Eggers. Using early Nelson Sauvin, early Motueka, late Pacifica and mid Pacific Jade, the aroma has fresh gooseberry, citrus peel, ripe tropical fruit and orange blossom.
With such fresh aromas we decided to brew a brand new and our very first Hazy IPA. The Bruce will be ready for tasting by the end of June. As a very limited amount will be available you will only be able to get your hands on this delicious fresh new beer via our Tasting Room and Online Store.
Don’t Miss Out!
Extraordinary Abel Tasman
Many of you know why we live and work in this beautiful region. But just in case you needed reminding then check out this amazing video showcasing the best of this beautiful region. Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter this region has so much to offer. Get amongst it now.
Fresh Riwaka hops are a go
This time of year has to be one of the most favourite times of year for all our team and customers alike. The aroma of Fresh Hops straight off the bines is incredible. Simon was fortunate enough to get along to our mates at Mac Hops and grab his hops straight from the bines then in to our bags. From bines to brew it took less than an hour and from that we created our delicious Green Limousine IPA. Yummmmmmmmmmmm Get it whilst you can!
As a small independent brewery there is rarely a quiet day! And this week is no exception. The boys have been busy brewing, bottling and delivering our delicious beers all over the region. We have even roped in the youngest member of the team to give us a hand setting up shop! It may be Easter School Holidays but the region is still as hot as ever and the beer is flowing across the Tasman and Nelson region.
It’s Gold Again……..
Last night at the auspicious Brewers Guild of NZ 2018 awards, we were awarded GOLD again for our delicious Lager. It’s great to be recognised for the hard work that goes in to making what is seemingly a simple beer. But with small batch brewing consistency is never as easy as it looks. Great team work.
Lemon, Lime & Glitter
Ever thought that Glitter would taste good in a beer? Well wonder no more and grab a taste of this crazy, sparkly beer at this weekend’s Beervana Festival in Wellington. This subtle lemon sour promises great flavours and a little pizazz.
It’s Gold for Lager
In the coveted New World Beer and Cider Awards 2018 our Lager was awarded both a Gold Medal and was named overall Champion Lager. As a relatively young and smaller brewery we are absolutely stoked to have gone up against some of the bigger names and won. We use local Motueka and Nelson Sauvin hops in our Lager so it’s a beer that beer really does celebrate our region.
